* * * MEDIA ADVISORY * * * ROAD CLOSURES ON FRIDAY, JUNE 11, 2004 |
| At the request of the United States Secret Service, the roadway,
sidewalk and adjoining easements along Madera Road, between Country Club Drive
East and Country Club Drive West, will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic
on Friday, June 11 2004, from 6:00 a.m. to approximately midnight. The purpose
of this closure is to facilitate appropriate security for the Ronald Reagan interment
services that will take place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
The closure of Madera Road in this area will affect residents who wish to view the motorcade bringing President Reagan’s body to the Library. Because they will not be able to congregate in this area, residents wishing to view the motorcade must do so from another location, west of Country Club Drive West, along the motorcade route as it travels from the Point Mugu Naval Base to the Presidential Library. Residents of the affected area will be allowed access to and from their homes during the period of closure. Questions regarding this condition can be directed to (805) 583-6100. |
