Book Signing with Buzz Aldrin
Saturday, June 8, 2013
1:00 p.m.
On Saturday, June 8, 2013, the Ronald Reagan
Presidential Foundation is honored to host a book
signing for Buzz Aldrin. Dr. Aldrin will be signing his
newest book, Mission to Mars: My Vision for Space
Exploration (publish date: May 7, 2013) in the Reagan
Library’s Museum Store beginning at 1:00 p.m*. Books
must be purchased in the Library’s Museum Store to
receive signature. To pre-purchase a book, please CLICK HERE or call 805-522-2977 for more
information.
In Mission to Mars, legendary “space statesman” Buzz Aldrin speaks out
as a vital advocate for the continuing quest to push the boundaries of the
universe as we know it. As a pioneering astronaut who first set foot on the
moon during mankind’s first landing of Apollo 11--and as an aerospace
engineer who designed an orbital rendezvous technique critical to future
planetary landings--Aldrin has a vision, and in this book he plots out the path
he proposes, taking humans to Mars by 2035.
Selected by NASA in 1963 into the third group of astronauts, Dr. Aldrin was the
first with a doctorate and became known as “Dr. Rendezvous.” The docking
and rendezvous techniques he devised for spacecraft in Earth and lunar orbit
became critical to the success of the Gemini and Apollo programs, and are
still used today. In 1966, on the Gemini 12 orbital mission, Buzz performed
the world’s first successful spacewalk. Then, on July 20, 1969, Buzz and Neil
Armstrong made their historic Apollo 11 moonwalk, becoming the first two
humans to set foot on another world. Upon returning from the moon, Buzz
was decorated with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest American
peacetime award.
*Buzz Aldrin will only autograph the following three books, all which must be
purchased at the Reagan Library Museum Store to receive signature: Mission
to Mars, Reaching for the Moon, and Look to the Stars. No other memorabilia,
photos, etc will be signed. To get through the line, Dr. Aldrin will not personalize
the books (he will only sign his name). No posed photography will be allowed.

Reagan Forum and Book Signing with Rich Lowry
Wednesday, June 19, 2013
6:00 pm Lecture
7:00 pm Book Signing
Just a few weeks after the Reagan Library’s extraordinary exhibit opens on Abraham Lincoln, the Reagan Foundation is pleased to offer a Reagan Forum and book signing with National Review editor and New York Times bestselling author Rich Lowry on his new book, Lincoln Unbound: How an Ambitious Young Railsplitter Saved the American Dream – and How We Can Do it Again (publish date: June 11, 2013). There is no cost to attend this lecture on Wednesday, June 19, however reservations are recommended by CLICKING HERE.
Lincoln Unbound is a thoughtful mix of history and politics which traces Abraham Lincoln’s ambitious climb from provincial upstart to political powerhouse.
Revered across the political spectrum, President Lincoln believed in a small but active government in a nation defined by aspiration. He embraced the market and the amazing transportation and communications revolutions beginning to take hold. He helped give birth to the modern industrial economy.
Abraham Lincoln’s vision of an upwardly mobile society that rewards and supports individual striving was wondrously realized. Now, it is under threat. To meet these challenges, conservative columnist Rich Lowry draws us back to the lessons of Lincoln. It is imperative, he argues, to preserve a fluid economy that makes it possible for individuals to thrive and live the American dream.
CLICK HERE to register and pre-purchase your copy of Lincoln Unbound for the book signing.
*Books must be purchased in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Museum Store to receive signature.
